More than half of all buildings in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed by Israeli strikes in the 100 days since the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, according to a new analysis of satellite data.
Experts describe Israel's military campaign as the most destructive in recent history. Strikes have hit every major population center along the Strip. More than 1.9 million people— about 85% of Gaza's population — have been displaced since the war began.
Damage is greatest in the north, where between 70-80% of buildings are damaged or destroyed, according to the analysis of satellite data, which was conducted by Jamon Van Den Hoek of Oregon State University and Corey Scher of CUNY Graduate Center.
