Since 1999, the executions of drug smugglers have become more common in Indonesia, Iran, China and Pakistan. In March 2018, U.S. President Donald Trump proposed executing drug traffickers to fight his country’s opioid epidemic. 32 countries impose the death penalty for drug smuggling. Seven of these countries (China, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore) routinely execute drug offenders. Asia and the Middle East’s tough approach contrasts with many Western countries who have legalized cannabis in recent years (selling cannabis in Saudi Arabia is punished by beheading).

death pentalty should only be applied in cases where the drug that was being trafficked includes heroin, fentanyl, crack, dope, acid
I believe in the usefulness of and support the death penalty, but I do not believe that drug dealers should get it.
@9PMRZSN5mos5MO
Θα πρεπει η πολιτεία πρωτα απ'όλα να σταματήσει την είσοδο ναρκωτικών στην χώρα για να προχωρήσουμε σε οποιαδήποτε τελική απόφαση για την τιμωρία των εμπόρων.
@95JK3GV2yrs2Y
Yes, only if they have been given a fair trial, and depending on a large amount of factors, from type of drugs, amount trafficked, lives destroyed etc etc
@8S8SXRM4yrs4Y
Yes, but only on exceptionally grave cases of large-scale drug trafficing.
@9BTNJYNNew Democracy2yrs2Y
depends on what and how much they have taken
@985XXSCNew Democracy2yrs2Y
No, I don't believe in the death penalty. They should be sentenced to life imprisoment

Depends on what they've done.
@9334YP33yrs3Y
Yes, if they have been sentenced to death or life in prison, and cannot or will not appeal.
@92WX6NZ3yrs3Y
As long as they were given a fair trial, then yes, but only if there's proof someone died from the drugs they trafficked
@93KW88V2yrs2Y
No, and the free import and export of all drugs should be decriminalized.
Deleted4yrs4Y
Only if they have brutally murdered or raped someone
Deleted4yrs4Y
No, not unless they did something extremely gruesome.
Deleted4yrs4Y
If they personally killed someone.
Deleted3yrs3Y
No, give them a hefty sentence is someone dies because of their actions.
@3GZTJR24yrs4Y
No, and legalize all drugs and retroactively release all convicted drug offenders and clear their records
Deleted4yrs4Y
Drug trafficking should be considered similarly to attempted murder or to murder if it is proven that a client of the trafficker died by using drugs sold by him.
Deleted4yrs4Y
Only if they have personally murdered someone. Not for dealing but for actively hurting others, yes. Must be without a reasonable doubt.
Deleted3yrs3Y
Yes, as long as they are given a fair trial, and there is proof someone died from the drugs they trafficked
@4SN3JWB4yrs4Y
No, unless he/she has also committed violent crimes such as attempted murder, or first degree murder, or in any other way seriously injures someone as a result.
@8CYG8KL4yrs4Y
Depending on how big their hustle was, and if people died and how many if people did die.
@8QN3MN74yrs4Y
It all depends on if they deserve it and it all depends on the case itself
@8RBQDDP3yrs3Y
Yes, especially if there is proof someone died from the drugs they trafficked
@6HDD83R4yrs4Y
Drug trafficking to apply if the drugs have links or connections to criminal or terrorist organizations, the person in question is a member or associate member of a criminal or terrorist organization and/or the drugs come from the 27 prohibited countries
@8PBY8XC4yrs4Y
No, give them a fair trial instead.
@92YHQCV2yrs2Y
No. However the sentence should depend on why the person was trafficking drugs in the first place.
@michaelconnely3yrs3Y
Situational. Too many factors to comment.
@8H4DF7B4yrs4Y
Only if there is objective evidence that someone was physically or mentally harmed and that this is the ONLY way to stop the trafficker from dealing again.
@8SZ83SN4yrs4Y
It depends if they do anything beyond far, such as drugging somebody. It all depends on the situation.
@6Q2LC7Q3yrs3Y
Yes, but only if they have committed murder in the course of their business.
@6LV5ZML3yrs3Y
Yes, as long as they are given a fair trial; and, pharmaceutical companies, and all civil and governmental agencies involved in illegal and legal drugs are also categorically defined as "drug traffickers" and "drug dealers".
@7JKPYRF4yrs4Y
Yes, but only if they are given a fair trial and repeated offenders.
@7KD4Z5Q3yrs3Y
No, unless he/she has also committed violent crimes
@kgtiberius4yrs4Y
Yes, as long as they are given a fair trial and this option is specifically independently selected form a variety of options and endorsed by the jury.
@MilesBHuff4yrs4Y
It depends on the drug and the amount
@7W3SBDC4yrs4Y
No, WTF is wrong with you??
@85Z5SQ34yrs4Y
I belive in the death penalty but I think it should depend on what happend with the drugs that they brought in. If the drugs harmed or killed anyone, then yes. If the drugs never did anything to anyone, put them in prison but not with the death penalty.
@88FM2F63yrs3Y
Depends on the drug and infamy
@83WFRPW4yrs4Y
No, but very severe prison sentence minimum of 10 years and maximum of 45 years.
@8C5DPWM4yrs4Y
No, this is a violation of the eighth amendment.
@86N5Z353yrs3Y
Give them a fair trial and let the judicial system decide.
@7PTCG384yrs4Y
No, but increase prison sentences for offenders who traffic cartels of the most lethal drugs to urban areas
@7PTCG384yrs4Y
No, but increase prison sentences for offenders who traffic cartels of the most lethal drugs to urban areas.
@8D5J4RR4yrs4Y
So long as the evidence is as strong as "yea i murdered people and spiked my drugs to fuel my empire, you cant undo that"
@7PTCG384yrs4Y
No, but increase prison sentences for dealers who traffic cartels of the most lethal drugs to urban areas
@7PTCG383yrs3Y
No, increase prison sentences instead for those who traffic large cartels the most lethal street drugs to urban areas
@7PTCG384yrs4Y

@8FN7RDR4yrs4Y
No, and at the minimum, decriminalize all drugs.
@8GR8N5C4yrs4Y
I do not believe in the death penalty, I think they just be punished harsher and it also depends on the type of drug. For example, marijuana should not be included
@8HV5NB44yrs4Y
They didn't cold blood kill someone so they should not get the death penalty.
@8JBN6KV4yrs4Y
Depends. Case by case basis.
@8JN5ZTL4yrs4Y
I believe that it depends. I don't believe in the death penalty unless it was a mass murder like 9/11. If this dealer led to deaths, I believe that they should be in jail for life with maybe a chance of parole.
@8JY4K994yrs4Y
be in jail for a little bit.
@8JXM38W4yrs4Y
No, proven Human traffickers should though
@8KG7DR83yrs3Y
Yes, only if their crime is violent.
@8M258QP3yrs3Y
Yes- only of their drugs are confirmed to be laced with harmful drugs not disclosed in the purchase to buyers
@abbymayart4yrs4Y
No there are too many variables. If it's marijuana then no. I'd rather see the death penalty go to the sex traffickers.
@8NY47RM4yrs4Y
Yes, as long as they have a jury and rights to appeal.
@8PVRZDN4yrs4Y
Give them the option to be sentenced life in prison with community service or death.
@8PV7LYQ4yrs4Y
Yes, but only for traffickers of deadly drugs such as heroin, cocaine, meth, etc.
@8QYZ4SB4yrs4Y
Yes, if it is proven in court that they caused death while in prison.
@8R6XFJ64yrs4Y
it depends on the danger level of the drug
@8R6XFJ63yrs3Y
it depends on the danger level of the drug and notoriety
@8RTZDTX4yrs4Y
No, unless given a fair trial and horrific crimes were made
@8TF44GJ3yrs3Y
No, I don't believe in the death penalty, and we should legalize all drugs.
@Thomasj663yrs3Y
Only if they have done something capable of this punishment.
@8XCJY2Y3yrs3Y
Yes. Legalize drugs in the united states, but keep it criminal to traffic them over the border.
@8XD6BY63yrs3Y
No, I do not believe in the death penalty and sentence them to life in prison without parole instead
Deleted4yrs4Y
Only if the actively killed someone.
@8Y6XX9F3yrs3Y
Yes, but only if they willingly understood their drugs could cause death.
@8YDDPH83yrs3Y
No, unless they served drugs to minors.
@8YT92QK3yrs3Y
No there is no reason to kill a person over drugs
@8YX4JT93yrs3Y
Depends on the actions of the dealer, the drug dealt, and any linked deaths
@8Z3NQVS3yrs3Y
Yes, If it is a major trafficking issue: very large amounts or involves the most dangerous. Meth, heroin, Opioids...
@8ZLZHD93yrs3Y
Yes, but only if there is proof someone died from the drugs they trafficked and they lied about the content of the sold drugs.
@MSelvig3yrs3Y
I do not currently have an opinion on this issue.
@92X5HLD3yrs3Y
No, the death penalty should be abolished and drug trafficking should be legalized
@8Y2PZNR3yrs3Y
Yes if they either had someone who couldn't pay them killed or their drugs killed them
@8ZJFSF63yrs3Y
Yes, only if they are charged for murder on top of trafficking
@8ZH59GG3yrs3Y
No, the bible says that the death penalty is only okay for murder.
Deleted4yrs4Y
